Online webinar via Zoom

All good things start with an idea. The dream of becoming an African safari guide, or studying wildlife in their natural habitat. The possibility of a career in conservation.

You’ve always wondered about becoming a field guide. Or you’ve always wanted to live in the African bush and learn about wildlife – but you don’t know if it’s possible (hint: it is). You have questions about the training experience and career options in conservation, safari guiding and ecotourism. We’re here to answer your questions!

On 14 January 2023, we’re opening our virtual doors to all future field guides and those looking for a life-changing gap year experience. Join us for a live discussion about our in-person and online field guide courses, and learn how you can make a change and start your career as a safari guide or conservationist.

During this interactive online event, you’ll hear more about our career courses, online courses, internships and our employment guarantee. We’ll hear from a past student about their experience and the impact it’s had on their career, and a woman who made her way from the USA to South Africa to pursue a lifelong goal of working in conservation.

Our experienced staff members will be available live to answer all of your burning questions!

As a bonus, by attending the event you’ll qualify for a reduced deposit of ZAR8,500 (GBP680, AUD1,280, CAD1,170, EUR800, USD930). A limited number of scholarships are also available for Open Day attendees (for 2023 start dates only).

If you’re interested in a career in conservation or safari guiding, or just an epic gap year in South Africa, this is your chance. Let the change of seasons move you – to go wild in your career!

Details: This event will take place as a live discussion over Zoom*. We’ll send you a link (via email and SMS) the day before the event. Our speakers will present and attendees can engage via the chatbox and ask the presenter questions in real-time. These questions will be answered live after the presentations.

*Please note that you don’t need to have an account or download Zoom to attend the Open Day. Please note that for the purposes of keeping our Open Day running smoothly, we’re keeping attendees’ cameras and audios off. You’ll be able to ask your questions in the chatbox.
