EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO THE WILD WORLD

You’ve done your time on the game viewer. You’ve ticked the Big Five off your list. Now learn the same things we teach our safari guide students – how to track wildlife, understand animal behaviour, read the land and stars, and interpret the subtle signs of nature that most guests never even notice.

A life-changing bush experience!

From the very start, the Bushwise team was incredibly helpful. Our guide, Nic, was endlessly patient and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions. We enjoyed incredible sightings and learned how to track and understand animals step by step. This program truly exceeded all my expectations.

A truly unforgettable safari guide experience!

I had an amazing 13-day experience with Bushwise. Our guide, Nic, was kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, teaching us so much about the bush each day. The food was delicious, the accommodation clean and comfortable, and the team in the office was always helpful in planning our visit. Memories I’ll treasure forever!

Welcome to Botswana!

Welcome to Botswana, where wilderness meets warm hospitality, and the Big Five still roam free. Bushwise Advanced Safaris take place in this incredible country, which is home to vast reserves and some of Africa’s most exciting wildlife encounters.

Whether you’re booking a set-date safari package or building a custom itinerary, you’ll stay in the heart of a 11 000 hectare wildlife reserve, with rich archaeological heritage and breathtaking scenery.

Accommodation

Lone Tree Wilderness Camp (Tswehe Wildlife Reserve)

An off-the-grid wilderness camp sleeping up to 10 guests in 5 tented units. Each unit opens onto a private deck with a hammock and loungers, inviting slow mornings and unhurried evenings immersed in the stillness of the bush.

For families, there are two units connected by an elevated walkway, offering shared space with a sense of privacy.

At the heart of the camp stands the ancient Nyala Berry Tree, “Lone Tree”, a living landmark around which camp life unfolds. Beneath it, the firepit and boma glow each evening, while a swimming pool and deck offer a quiet place to cool off under the vast Tuli skies.

The main lodge area brings people together with a fully equipped kitchen, fridges and freezers, and relaxed communal spaces designed for long meals, easy conversation, and quiet moments with a book.

Just a short walk away lies a waterhole and underground photographic hide, offering a rare, intimate wildlife experience at eye level. From this hidden vantage point, elephants and other wildlife can be observed at astonishing proximity as they come to drink.

Arrival & afternoon game drive

Welcome to Botswana! Arrive at camp and settle into your accommodation before setting off on your first orientation drive. On the viewer, you’ll meet your guide trainer, and start to get a feel for the lay of the land you’ll be exploring during your time in the reserve. After that, it’s dinner and drinks under the stars and an early night in preparation for the next day’s action.

DAY 2
Animal behaviour & bush dynamics

Start the day with an early drive focused on animal behaviour. Learn how different species interact, revealing the invisible dynamics that shape life in the wild, including things like predator tactics, elephant communication, or the quiet signals animals use to stay safe.
