This compact version of our Professional Field Guide course is a hands-on training experience that allows you to put your knowledge into action. Combined with passing your NQF2 theory exam, you’ll earn your FGASA Apprentice Field Guide qualification.
Bushwise Professional Field Guide Course
Train and live for 23 weeks in the pristine African bushveld, while earning your FGASA Apprentice Field Guide NQF2 qualification and NQF4 knowledge. Go beyond the basics as our experienced trainers (with over 100 years of collective experience) introduce you to additional knowledge and skills to make you a world-class safari guide.
Following the course, you can choose to embark on a 6-month practical placement on a game reserve or volunteer or research program.

FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide course
On the 14-day FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide course, delivered in conjunction with Lowveldt Training, you’ll cover all the requirements for your FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide qualification. Your time will be spent meeting the minimum number of dangerous game encounters on foot and logging the practical hours required. This course will also focus on the ethos of guiding, as well as bush skills.
