Gain invaluable hands-on experience with our new 35-day intensive course in the South African bushveld. Enhance your existing FGASA qualifications by adding to your practical skill set in just five weeks.
Combined with passing your NQF2 theory exam, you’ll earn your FGASA Apprentice Field Guide qualification.
Bushwise Professional Field Guide Course
Train and live for 23 weeks in the pristine African bushveld, and achieve the FGASA Apprentice Field Guide NQF2 qualification. You’ll also gain NQF4 knowledge and other essential qualifications and skills in this comprehensive safari guide course.
Following the course, you can choose to embark on a 6-month practical placement on a game reserve or volunteer or research program.
FGASA Field Guiding and Conservation Careers Internship
Take part in the most comprehensive field guide course in South Africa for under 21s. You’ll train as a field guide and gain exposure in various safari careers. With career exposure placement options at 3- to 5-star lodges as well as research centres, you’ll have a big advantage when starting your career.
FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide course
On the 14-day FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide course, delivered in conjunction with Lowveldt Training, you’ll cover all the requirements for your FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide qualification. Your time will be spent meeting the minimum number of dangerous game encounters on foot and logging the practical hours required. This course will also focus on the ethos of guiding, as well as bush skills.
